Frank Costello, named the Prime Minister of the Underworld, was one of the most powerful and influential mafia bosses. Costello was in charge of the Mafia after Charles Luciano went to jail up until just after an attempted assassination by Vincent "Vinnie the Chin" Gigante. After serving a few years in jail for tax evasion he lived the rest of his live in Staten Island. In 1973, at age 82, Frank Costello died of a heart attack at a Manhattan hospital.
